Devanur Deluxe, traded as DD, is a hybrid chilli from the seed company Nunhems, sold to growers as Devnur Deluxe. Its long, semi-wrinkled, dark red pods are Byadgi type, and it is one of the highest-colour chillies in the Guntur and Byadgi trade: the seed company rates it up to 180 ASTA, with medium pungency and good colour retention, and notes strong demand from the chilli powder and oleoresin industries.
Geodhara International sources Devanur Deluxe through our supplier network in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Volumes are smaller than for the mainstream Guntur varieties, so we confirm supply early in the season. Lots are sun dried, machine cleaned and graded by colour and pod size, with stem or stemless, for consistent export-grade supply.

Premium high-colour chilli powders and masalas.
Colour extraction: oleoresin paprika and natural red colour.

Both have wrinkled, deep red pods and high colour. GI Byadgi from Haveri in Karnataka is milder, about 5,000 to 15,000 SHU. Devanur Deluxe is a hybrid with medium heat, about 30,000 to 45,000 SHU, and usually trades well below Byadgi, so buyers use it for colour where some heat is acceptable.
ASTA colour typically runs about 100 to 160, with medium heat of roughly 30,000 to 45,000 SHU. Each lot's measured values are on its certificate of analysis.
In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, with lots traded through the Guntur and Byadgi markets. New crop arrives from January to April. Volumes are smaller than for the mainstream Guntur varieties, so we confirm supply early.
