Teja, traded as S17, is a hybrid red chilli and the hottest of the major commercial varieties grown in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Its bright red pods carry high pungency with good colour, which makes it the first choice of oleoresin capsicum producers and of makers of hot chilli powders and sauces.
Geodhara International sources Teja through our supplier network around Khammam, Warangal and Guntur, the main Teja belt. Lots are sun dried, machine cleaned and graded by pungency, colour and pod size, with stem or stemless, for consistent export-grade supply.
Our target markets include China, Bangladesh, the UAE, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. For importers, spice processors, food manufacturers, and wholesale distributors there, we offer bulk supply, competitive pricing, and complete export documentation.

FAQs
Teja is the hottest of the major Indian commercial chillies, typically about 70,000 to 90,000 SHU. In a laboratory comparison of 19 Guntur market varieties it gave the highest extract yield and one of the highest capsaicinoid contents, which is why oleoresin producers prefer it. Each lot's measured pungency is on its certificate of analysis.
ASTA colour typically runs about 50 to 80. Teja is bought mainly for heat; where colour matters more, Byadgi or Warangal Chapata are the better choices, and hot and high-colour varieties are often blended to a target specification.
The main Teja belt is Khammam and Warangal in Telangana and Guntur and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, with Khammam its key market. New crop arrives from January to April and is supplied year round from cold storage.
We offer compressed bales, or 10 kg to 25 kg PP bags, jute bags and cartons, with custom private-label packaging to suit your market requirements.
We provide complete export documentation including phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin, fumigation certificate where the destination requires it, NABL lab test reports, and shipping documents.
