The crop is concentrated in Mydukur and Duvvur mandals, which have the largest turmeric area in the district, and district horticulture officials rate the local Mydukur turmeric Grade-1 for colour, taste and overall quality.

Uses
Milled into turmeric powder by spice grinders and packers, who buy whole fingers to control cleaning, blending and mesh size.
Base for curry powders, masalas and seasoning blends in food manufacturing.
Raw material for turmeric oleoresin and curcumin extraction.
Sold whole through ethnic wholesale and retail for home grinding, pickles and traditional cooking.

In YSR Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, the leading turmeric district of the Rayalaseema region. Mydukur and Duvvur mandals have the largest turmeric area, and in 2026 the district had about 7,000 acres under the crop across 24 mandals, roughly half of it around Mydukur.
Mydukur is the local turmeric type of Kadapa district and the name of its main growing area and market yard. District horticulture officials rate it Grade-1 for colour, taste and overall quality, and it has been studied as a cultivar at the Horticultural Research Station, Anantharajupeta. We test every lot and state its curcumin on the certificate of analysis.
Kadapa turmeric is sold through the Kadapa regulated market yard and the Mydukur market yard. The crop is harvested from January to March and then cured and dried, and dried turmeric stores well, so we supply Kadapa lots year round.
We offer 25 kg and 50 kg new jute or PP bags and cartons, with custom private-label packaging to suit your market requirements.
