Cotton Bales

Raw cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) is ginned lint pressed into 170 kg bales, the standard trading unit in India, and the raw material for yarn spinning mills worldwide. India is one of the world's largest cotton producers, and Telangana is its third-largest cotton-growing state.

Geodhara International sources cotton bales from Telangana - the state that led the Cotton Corporation of India's procurement in 2024-25 with about 40 lakh bales - through ginning and pressing units in its cotton belt around Adilabad, Warangal and Khammam. Lint is graded to contract for staple length, micronaire, strength and trash, and each lot is HVI tested by an accredited laboratory before shipment.

Our target markets include Bangladesh - the main buyer of India's raw cotton - together with Vietnam, Indonesia and China, where we supply spinning mills and cotton traders with bulk supply and full export documentation.

FAQs

In India a cotton bale is ginned lint pressed to 170 kg, within a tolerance of 10 kg, under IS 12171 - the standard unit for trading and pricing cotton. Bales are wrapped and strapped, and each carries lot marks for traceability.
Telangana cotton is mostly long staple, typically 28 to 30 mm with micronaire of about 3.5 to 4.9. Exact staple, micronaire, strength and trash are agreed in the contract and confirmed by HVI testing for each lot.
From Telangana, India's third-largest cotton producer, through ginning and pressing units in its cotton belt around Adilabad, Warangal and Khammam. Geodhara International does not own farms, gins or warehouses - we coordinate supply, quality checks and export.
Kasturi Cotton Bharat is India's national cotton brand, tested and traceable back to the ginner. Certified bales can be quoted on request, subject to availability from registered ginners.
We provide complete export documentation including certificate of origin, phytosanitary and fumigation certificates where the destination requires them, HVI test reports, packing lists and shipping documents.
