Desi Chickpeas

Desi chickpeas are the small, angular, brown-coated chickpea that makes up most of India's chickpea crop. Known as desi chana or Bengal gram, they are split into chana dal and milled into besan (gram flour), and are a staple across South Asia and the Middle East.

Geodhara International sources Desi chickpeas mainly from Andhra Pradesh - Kurnool and Prakasam are the state's leading chickpea districts, where JG-11 and newer Nandyal varieties such as NBeG 452 are widely grown - together with Telangana and Karnataka. We supply whole desi chana and split chana dal, machine cleaned and sortexed, and each lot is checked for moisture, admixture and damaged grains before dispatch.

Our target markets include Bangladesh, the UAE, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia, where we supply pulse traders, dal millers, besan producers and food distributors with consistent quality and full export documentation.
